The German chemical industry is best known for an array of multinational companies with household names such as such as BASF, Bayer, Evonik Industries, Henkel, Lanxess, Linde, and Merck KGaA. There are 11 Germany-based companies in the top 30 European chemical producers, ranked by annual sales, in CW’s 2011 Billion-Dollar Club.
