Süd-Chemie and LG Chem Form Lithium Iron Phosphate JV (Update)

Süd-Chemie, part of the Clariant group, and LG Chem say they have today signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture for high volume production of lithium iron phosphate (LFP), a cost effective and eco-friendly cathode material for use in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
