SGL Group Inaugurates Graphite Plant in Malaysia

SGL Group (Wiesbaden, Germany) says it has officially inaugurated its fully integrated graphite electrode and cathode plant at Banting, Malaysia. The company invested more than €200 million ($265 million) in the facility, which is the largest single project in its 20-year history, SGL Group says. The production capacity of the plant is 60,000 m.t./year. The strategic location of Malaysia for supplying the electric steel and aluminum industries in the Southeast Asian and Mideast markets, was the primary reason for building the facility there...
