Oxea Breaks Ground on Carboxylic Acid Plant in Germany

Oxea broke ground on Friday on a previously announced carboxylic acid plant at Oberhausen, Germany. The facility, the company’s third such unit, will raise capacity by 40%. The plant is due to be completed during this year. The main driver for the capacity expansion is a growing global demand for synthetic fatty acids, which form the basis for manufacturing energy-efficient lubricant esters for refrigeration units, such as air conditioners and refrigerators or phthalate-free plasticizers, the company says. “Oxea is the leading carboxylic acids...
