New federal German government welcomed by industry - but important issues remain

The announcement of an agreement between the two major parties to form a coalition government in Germany has been cautiously welcomed. But important industrial-political questions have not yet been adequately addressed, in particular the Energiewende [Germany's energy transition into an economy based on fuel powered by renewable resources], according to the chemical industry association VCI (Frankfurt). Nevertheless, VCI welcomes the recognition by the coalition partners of the central role that a productive industry can play in a strong German economy...
