Merck KGaA to use Epson ink technology to manufacture ink for large OLED displays

Merck KGaA (Darmstadt, Germany) says it has signed a cooperation and licensing agreement with Seiko Epson (Suwa, Japan) for ink-jet inks used in the manufacture of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays. Epson, according to the agreement, will supply Merck KGaA with ink technology that dissolves Merck KGaA’s OLED materials so that they can be used for the production of printable displays used in OLED television screens, Merck KGaA says.
