Merck KGaA sells assets of Chemische Fabrik Lehrte to Schüssler Novachem

Merck KGaA says it has reached an agreement to sell the laboratory equipment and production units of Chemische Fabrik Lehrte, a business within Merck that produces industrial salts at Lehrte, Germany, to Schüssler Novachem (Halle, Germany), a manufacturer of inorganic salts. Further details of the deal have not been disclosed. Merck announced in 2012 that the production of industrial salts at Lehrte will be discontinued in 2014, and that the company will continue to operate the relevant business from the company headquarters at Darmstadt, Germany.
