Merck KGaA Names its Next Boss

Kley: Merck KGaA’s heir apparent. Merck KGaA has appointed Karl-Ludwig Kley as its next chairman, effective April 27. Kley succeeds Michael Römer, who is due to retire. Kley has been vice chairman of Merck KGaA since last September. Römer, meanwhile, will join the board of E. Merck OHG, the family-owned parent of Merck KGaA, after April.
