German biofuel producer launches EU-funded straw-to-biomethane project

Verbio (Leipzig, Germany), a biofuel producer, has launched a straw-to-biomethane project at Schwedt, Germany that is due to start operating in the second half of 2014, the company announced. The project secured about €22.3 million in EU funding in 2012.   “This funding is an incentive to increase the share of biomethane in the biofuel market.
