Evonik to Invest in Nylon-12 Plant in Asia, Hikes Capacity in Germany

Evonik Industries says it plans to build a 20,000-m.t./year nylon-12 plant in Asia and expand its existing capacity at Marl, Germany. Evonik’s executive board has approved preliminary and basic planning for the Asian plant. The company, meanwhile, will add 5,000 m.t./year capacity at Marl with completion scheduled next year. The Asian facility is expected on line within three years, the company says. “With the significant capacity expansion proposed, we plan to consolidate our leading position in polyamide 12 for the long term," says Dahai...
