Evonik completes capacity expansion for structural foam at Darmstadt

Evonik Industries has increased capacity for its Rohacell-branded structural foam at the company's Darmstadt, Germany production site, Evonik announced. The company began operations at a new production facility at the site at the end of 2013. The expansion required an investment of about €6 million ($8.1 million). The new facility increases polymerization capacity at the site by 50% and, due to the extensive automation of the polymerization process, cycle times have dropped by almost a half, the company adds.
