Evonik Builds Second Hexachlorodisilane Plant in Germany

Evonik Industries has begun construction of a second hexachloro-di-silane (HCDS) production facility at its Rheinfelden, Germany site. Production is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2012. HCDS, a raw material containing silicon, is used by the semiconductor industry to produce memory chips with extremely high storage densities.
