European Commission approves Haltermann's acquisition of Petrochem Carless

The European Commission has approved the proposed acquisition of Petrochem Carless (Leatherhead, UK) by Haltermann Holding (Hamburg). The commission says its investigation "confirmed that the proposed operation would not raise competition concerns as it would not significantly alter the structure of the relevant markets." Haltermann has production at Hamburg and Speyer, Germany, and its products include solvents, printing ink distillates, propellants for cosmetics, and blowing agents for insulation.
