EU presses Germany to ensure that Daimler vehicles use HFO-1234yf refrigerant

The European Commission is putting pressure on the German authorities to ensure that Germany enforces the commission's mobile air condition systems (MAC) directive, which requires that air conditioning systems of new types of vehicle be filled with a refrigerant that has a low global warming potential (GWP). The commission sent a letter of formal notice on 23 January to the German authorities, encouraging them to apply the MAC directive fully to vehicles produced by Daimler, which the commission says are infringing the directive.
