Bayer's life sciences units lift results, MaterialScience hampered by costs; 2013 outlook confirmed

Bayer reported a “positive development” in its life sciences operations, comprising HealthCare and CropScience, in the first quarter but said that MaterialScience’s results were hampered by raw material costs. The company has, meanwhile, confirmed its outlook for the rest of 2013.    Bayer’s chairman Marijn Dekkers, announcing the results today, said that the company continues to see attractive perspectives for 2013, Bayer’s 150th anniversary year. “We confirm our outlook for the Bayer Group,” he said...
