BASF introduces nylon derived from biomass

BASF says it is offering a high-performance nylon derived from renewable raw materials under the company's Ultramid brand. The product is based on certified biomass. The resulting nylon is produced according to a "mass balance approach" and is identical to conventional nylon in terms of formulation and quality, BASF says. “Consumer demand for products made of renewable raw materials continues to rise.
