Altana's Profits Rise, but Company Warns on Second-Half Outlook

Altana reported first-half 2011 net income up 3%, to €89.8 million, on sales up 9%, to €840 million. Operating income rose 1%, to €172.9 million. Sales rose across all divisions, but gains were partially offset by rising raw material costs, the company says.  Altana expects second-half sales growth to slow down compared to first-half rates.
