Altana reports higher sales and earnings, plans to double in size by 2020

Specialty chemicals group Altana today reported higher sales and earnings and said it plans to double the size of its business by 2020. Last year's Ebitda was 4% higher, at €336 million ($463.5 million), on sales also 4% up, at €1.77 billion. Asia recorded the highest sales growth, 10%, to €547 million, of which China accounted for €288 million, up 14% on the year-earlier period. Sales in Europe were down 2%, to €745 million, including a 2% drop in sales in Germany, to €262 million. Sales in the Americas were up 1%, to €438...
