BASF invests in thermoplastic polyurethanes in Germany

BASF has broken ground on a thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) production complex at Lemförde, Germany. Total investment is expected to be in the tens of millions of euros range. Completion is due at the end of 2014. BASF sells TPUs under the Elastollan brand name. “This investment is part of a global BASF growth strategy and will contribute towards the further expansion of our leading market position,” says Uwe Hartwig, senior v.p./polyurethanes Europe.
