Evonik Establishes JV for Extruded PMMA in South Africa

Evonik Industries says it has established a joint venture, dubbed Evonik Acrylics Africa (EAA; Johannesburg), with plastics processor Ampaglas Plastics Group (Elandsfontein, South Afrrica), for the production of Evonik's extruded Plexiglas polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) sheeting. Evonik holds a 51% stake in the jv, which will also be responsible for the marketing of extruded Plexiglas sheet products, particularly in African markets.
