Total Names Pouyanné as President/Refining and Chemicals, Cornélis is Stepping Down

Total’s chairman and CEO Christophe de Margerie said today that François Cornélis, president/chemicals and vice chairman of the executive committee, is stepping down, following a recently announced reorganization of the company’s downstream businesses, which will result in the merger of the refining and petrochemicals operations.  Effective January 1, 2012, Michel Bénézit, head of refining & marketing, becomes special advisor to the chairman and CEO.
