Solvay and Canadian firm enter tolling agreement to process rare earths at French site

Avalon Rare Metals (Toronto) has entered into a tolling agreement with Solvay, under which Solvay will process rare earth concentrate, supplied by Avalon, into pure rare earth oxides (REO) for an anticipated period of 10 years, Avalon says. Solvay will carry out the processing at the company's rare earth separation and refining plant at La Rochelle, France. In addition, and effective immediately, Solvay will provide Avalon with technical support for the further design optimization, engineering, and commissioning of Avalon's planned hydrometallurgical processing...
