SNF to Boost Polymers Capacity 50% by 2012

SNF (Andrézieux, France) says it will increase global production capacity 50%, to 580,000 m.t./year, by 2012 in an effort to meet increasing demand in for water-soluble polymers. SNF has not detailed total investment costs for the 2010-2012 program, but plans  include a 50,000 m.t./year acrylamide plant and four 20,000 m.t./year anionic powder plants to be built at Plaquemine, LA.  Initial phases of the production plants are expected to start up in early 2011.
