Rhodia Sees Slight Improvement in Profitability in Third Quarter and 'Significant Demand Recovery'

Rhodia says its third quarter 2009 results have improved substantially, especially in the polyamide and Silcea activities. Recurring earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) was 2.4% higher at €174 million ($256.7 million) compared with the third quarter of 2008 and operating profit was €104 million in the third quarter of this year versus €65 million in the year earlier period.
