Rhodia Posts a Big Rise in Earnings

Rhodia posted a more than doubling in second-quarter net profits compared with the same period of last year, to €113 million on sales up 22%, to €1.6 billion. Recurring Ebitda increased 31%, to €297 million and operating profits jumped 49%, to €218 million. Solvay announced plans earlier this year to acquire Rhodia for €3.4 billion.
