Regions :: Western Europe :: France Lawmakers in France Advance Bill to Ban BPA in All Food Packaging9:05 AM MDT | October 13, 2011 | Kara Sissell The French National Assembly has voted to ban bisphenol A (BPA) in all food packaging materials beginning in 2014. The vote follows a recent report by the France’s national food safety agency Anses (Paris) that links BPA to adverse health effects “even at low levels of exposure.” That report caused French Health Minster Xavier Bertrand to announce his support for the measure. The Senate has not take up the proposal, but if passed it would make France the first country to enact a nationwide ban on BPA in all food packaging materials. The bill...
