French government urged to relax ban on fracking

The French government should relax its ban on fracking so that accurate estimates can be made of France's shale oil and gas deposits, a report by a French parliamentary commission says. Exploration wells could be drilled in regions where seismic data suggest sizeable reserves, the report says. The two most promising regions are southeastern France for shale gas and Paris for shale oil.
