Chemicals Output Beats Expectations in France

Output of chemicals increased 5.9% in France during 2011, industry association UIC (Paris) says. The full-year increase exceeded UIC's most recent forecast of 4.5% growth in output by France's chemical industry in 2011, made last November. Activity in the French chemical industry was "dynamic" last year and the sector maintained its improvement following a "particularly strong recovery" in 2010, when chemicals output increased 8.9%, UIC says.
