Bain acquired Novacap from Rhodia in 2002. Novacap has three businesses: Novacarb, which makes soda ash; Novacid, producing hydrochloric acid; and Novapex, making cumene, phenol, and acetone. The company has combined sales of about €520 million/year. Novacap completed a €130-million debt refinancing last June. Bain and Novacap declined to comment on the...
