Arkema's net profit falls by more than a half as sales drop; delays sales, earnings targets

Arkema's quarter-two net income fell by 58%, to €47 million ($63 million) from €112 million one year earlier, according to the company's latest results published today. Ebitda amounted to €206 million, down from €273 million in the second quarter of 2013. This decrease reflects continued challenging market conditions in fluorinated gases and nylon-12, and volumes below expectations in coating solutions, the company says.
