Arkema Plans Job Cuts at French Hydrogen Sulfide Plant

Arkema says it is considering plans to eliminate 48 jobs at its Lacq-Mourenx, France plant where it produces hydrogen sulfide derivatives. The cuts, 18% of the site’s staff, will be made in 2007-08, the company says. Financial results at the plant “are giving cause for concern,” it adds. Arkema will develop products at the site that have strong growth potential such as dimethyl disulfide, and it plans “targeted investments aimed at increasing capacity” in these...
