Arkema Buoyed by Financial Growth for Full Year 2011, Despite Tougher Fourth Quarter

French chemicals group Arkema has recorded a net income of €76 million ($100 million) for fourth quarter 2011, a 36% drop compared with the same period a year earlier. Corresponding sales increased 17% to €1.4 billion. Ebitda of €158 million for the fourth quarter was 13% down on the year-ago period. The drop in fourth quarter performance was not enough to prevent the company from posting a record high for its financial performance for full year 2011.
