Kemira reports lower profits and revenues, looking for acquisitions

Kemira today reported its second-quarter results, with net profit down to €1.8 million ($2.4 million) from €3.7 million in the year-earlier quarter. Revenues decreased 9%, to €518.2 million, because of divestments and unfavorable currency exchange rates. Revenue in local currencies, excluding acquisitions and divestments, remained flat. Ebitda in the second quarter was down 16%, to €34.9 million, and Ebitda margin dropped from 7.3% in the second quarter of 2013 to 6.7% in the corresponding period of this year.
