Kemira Sells Fluorescent Whitening Business to German Catec

Kemira says it has agreed to sell its fluorescent whitening agents (FWA) business to German Catec Gmbh. FWAs are used to improve the whiteness and brightness of paper. Financial terms were not disclosed, although Kemira says the transaction will not have any significant impact on its financial figures. The acquisition has been financially supported by Fengler Beteiligungs GmbH (Niedersachsen, Germany).   The deal includes a production plant at Leverkusen, Germany, a global FWA sales network and associated support functions for the business, Kemira says...
