Reach: ECHA Adds Eight Substances to Candidate List for Authorization; Includes Trichloroethylene

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) says it has added eight chemical substances to the candidate list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). Chemicals that feature on the candidate list go through to the authorization phase of the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation (Reach) program, which requires further data safety analysis and could lead to the substances being restricted or banned.
