Hempel Exits Denmark Paint Market

Hempel (Lyngby, Denmark) says it will halt production of marine and protective coatings at its Lyngby, Denmark facility after May 31, 2010, affecting about 123 employees. Hempel cites global market conditions. The company expects to choose a site in Poland in a few weeks at which it will build a plant to take the Lyngby production, a company spokesperson says.
