Regions :: Western Europe :: Denmark Firmenich Acquires Danisco’s Flavors1:33 PM MDT | July 26, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Firmenich (Geneva) says it has agreed to acquire Danisco’s flavors business for DK3.4 billion ($623 million). The deal is expected to close at the end of June. “With revenue in flavors of about DK1.5 billion in 2006-07, corresponding to only 2%-3% of the world market, Danisco’s market position in the ingredients area is limited compared with the largest players,” Danisco says. Danisco plans to focus on bio ingredients, and texturants and sweeteners. The acquisition boosts privately owned Firmenich’s “top three” market...
