Regions :: Western Europe :: Denmark Borealis Expands and Upgrades Polypropylene Capacity12:41 PM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Borealis says it will invest €90 million ($116 million) to expand and upgrade its polypropylene (PP) capacity. The company will invest €25 million at Porvoo, Finland to expand PP capacity by 65,000 m.t./year, to 220,000 m.t./year by the end of 2008. It will invest €35 million to add a fourth gas-phase reactor at the company’s Borstar-process PP unit at Schwechat, Austria for completion in 2009. That project will enable the Schwechat plant to produce “superior materials that meet the needs of the automotive, pipe, and advanced packaging...
