Uhde Inventa-Fischer to build first PPhos flame-retardant polymer plant

Uhde Inventa-Fischer says it has won a turnkey contract to build the world's first commercial-scale plant for the production of Nofia polyphosphonate (PPhos) flame-retardant polymer used as a blend component to impart flame retardancy to other host plastics. The contractor will build the plant at Antwerp for the Belgian subsidiary of FRX Polymers (Chelmsford, MA), using FRX’s proprietary, patented polycondensation process.
