Regions :: Western Europe :: Belgium Solvay Increases Hydrofluoric Acid and Soda Ash Prices10:54 AM MDT | June 16, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Solvay Fluorides says it will increase off-schedule prices for all bulk anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (AHF), bulk aqueous hydrofluoric acid (HF) products, and packaged aqueous HF products, effective immediately. Bulk AHF will increase 32 cts/lb. Bulk 70% HF and 49% HF will increase by 23 cts/lb and 16 cts/lb, respectively. Packaged aqueous 70% HF will increase 23 cts/lb and 49% HF will increase by 16 cts/lb. The increases are necessary because of a rapid escalation of costs for transportation and for raw materials such as fluorspar and sulfur, says Greg Jankowski...
