Polymers production falls, dragging down overall EU chemicals output

Production of chemicals decreased 2.4% in the European Union (EU) in the first seven months of 2012 compared with the same period in 2011, Cefic says. Production fell by 2.2% year-over-year, in the month of July, driven by the 5.8% decline in production in the polymers subsector, Cafic says.
