Lanxess Builds Nylon Plastics Plant at Antwerp

Lanxess has announced an investment of €75 million ($93 million) for the construction of a plant to make nylon engineering plastics at the company's Antwerp complex. The new facility will have a production capacity of 90,000 m.t./year, and is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2014, the company says. The new high-tech plastics plant will make Antwerp the hub of Lanxess's global nylon business, because it will be built next to the company's caprolactam facility.
