Regions :: Western Europe :: Belgium Ineos restructures chlor-vinyls business, including plant closures5:11 AM MST | February 21, 2013 | Francinia Protti-Alvarez Ineos has announced that, following an internal asset review, it will restructure its chlor-vinyls business to address overcapacity in chlorine, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as the economic downturn in Europe continues to impact demand along the chain, Ineos said today. The restructuring will focus all of the company's UK PVC production at its 280,000-m.t./year suspension PVC plant at Newton Aycliffe, enabling the permanent shutdown of its 115,000-m.t./year suspension PVC production unit at Runcorn.
