The facility is designed to produce up to 110,000 m.t./year of isobutene and forms part of the site's integrated C4 production platform. It has tripled Evonik's overall capacity for isobutene, which is used as feedstock in the production of butyl rubber, plastics, anti-oxidants and fine chemicals.
