Evonik Plans Capacity Hikes for Isobutene, Methionine

Evonik Industries has announced plans to spend tens of millions of dollars to increase production capacity for DL-methionine and isobutene at the company’s Antwerp complex. Evonik says it will triple its isobutene capacity with construction of an additional production facility. The plant has a projected capacity of 110,000 m.t./year and is scheduled to begin operating in the fourth quarter of 2010.
