EU chemical output down in June, first-half production up slightly

Europe's chemicals output dipped in June for the second straight month after growing eight consecutive months, according to the latest Cefic Chemicals Trends Report, published today. No baseline figures have been provided. With the exception of consumer chemicals, the outputs from all subsectors were lower in June 2014 than in June 2013, Cefic says. Petrochemical prices continued to marginally decline in June, slipping 0.5% year-on-year (YOY), Cefic adds.
