EU Industry Up In Arms at Proposal to Phase Out Antimony Trioxide

The International Antimony Association (I2A; Brussels) has responded vociferously to a proposal in the European Parliament that antimony trioxide should be banned under the European Union’s (EU) Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) regulation for electrical and electronic equipment.   Antimony trioxide is used in a range of plastics and electronic devices as a fire retardant.
