EU Commission Raids Plastic Pipes and Fittings Suppliers

The European Commission said on Wednesday that antitrust inspectors raided several companies that supply plastic pipes and fittings used in the sewage industry. The commission, which acts as antitrust regulator in the European Union (EU), said that on June 26, 2012, commission officials carried out raids on companies active in this industry in several member states. The commission says that it “has concerns that the companies concerned may have violated EU antitrust rules that prohibit cartels and restrictive business practices."  ...
