Regions :: Western Europe :: Belgium BASF to Hike Superabsorbents Capacity at Two Sites7:25 AM MST | December 17, 2010 | Ian Young BASF has announced plans to expand capacity of superabsorbent polymers at Freeport, TX and Antwerp. Gradual debottlenecking and technical expansion measures will hike overall capacity by 70,000 m.t./year, to a combined 470,000 m.t./year by 2012. Each site will contribute an additional 35,000 m.t./year. "The aim of the planned investments is to support market growth and drive innovation," BASF says. "The additional superabsorbent polymer volumes are also required to prepare investments at new sites in growth markets." BASF and Sinopec announced...
