BASF Puts Bulk of Fertilizers Unit Up for Sale

BASF has put the majority of its fertilizer business on the block. BASF says the businesses up for sale are profitable, but are not considered to be core operations. The company says it plans to find a strategic buyer for the fertilizer activities. The fertilizer operations activities include production plants at Antwerp and BASF’s 50% share in its PECRhin joint venture (Ottmarsheim, France) The businesses to be sold have a total capacity of about 2.5 million m.t./year of fertilizer and account for less than 1% of BASF total sales of €63.9 billion...
